Looking for a quick, flavorful sauce that’s perfect for any meal? This Lemon Dill Yogurt Sauce is the answer! It’s creamy, tangy, and ready in just 5 minutes, making it ideal for busy days when you want to add a burst of flavor to your meal without spending hours in the kitchen. Whether you’re drizzling it over grilled fish or using it as a dip, this sauce is the perfect go-to condiment when time is tight

I’ve always had a love for dips and sauces– they’re my secret weapon for taking any dish from good to great. This lemon yogurt sauce is my take on a traditional tzatziki sauce, a recipe I grew up with. My family’s homemade tzatziki went on everything! Grilled chicken, check. Falafel, check. Beef and fish, double check!

What I love about this easy recipe is that it delivers all the flavor I crave, but without the extra work. Some days, I just don’t have the time (or energy) to grate and drain a cucumber.

That’s where this quick and easy yogurt dill sauce comes in – it’s the perfect solution for those moments when you want something delicious but don’t have the time to fuss. It’s fresh, flavorful, and ready in minutes – just like all the best recipes should be!

Try this easy lemon dill sauce with my Traeger Grilled Salmon, Dungeness Crab Cakes, or Easy Lobster Cakes.

    Why You'll Love This Recipe

    • Quick And Easy: You can whip up this lemon yogurt sauce in only 5 minutes with simple ingredients. You likely already have everything you need in your kitchen.
    • Versatile: You can use it as a dip, spread, or sauce for so many dishes. I love adding it to seafood, wraps, or using it as a dip for veggies. You can also adjust the flavors by adding more or less dill and lemon.
    • Make-Ahead Friendly: This is a great, simple sauce that only requires a handful of ingredients. You can make it in advance and store it in your fridge, making it perfect for meal prep!

    Ingredients

Lemon Dill Yogurt Sauce ingredients with labels.
    • Greek Yogurt: For the creamiest texture, use grass-fed full fat Greek yogurt.
    • Lemon: Trust me, you will want to use fresh lemon juice as opposed to the stuff you find in the bottle. It is not the same!
    • Dill: Fresh Dill is ideal as it adds so much flavor, but if it’s out of season or you don’t have any on hand, dried dill will work just fine.
    • Sea Salt: Make sure you use high-quality sea salt and avoid table salt. Look for something that provides your body with minerals like pink Himalayan sea salt. You can also use kosher salt if that's what you have.

See the recipe card for full information on ingredients and quantities.

    Substitutions And Variations

    • Plain Greek Yogurt: You can use any plain yogurt (Greek or regular) or opt for a non-dairy alternative like coconut yogurt or almond yogurt for a vegan version.
    • Herbs: Experiment by using different fresh herbs like fresh mint, parsley, or cilantro for a unique flavor profile.
    • Spicy Option: Add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a splash of hot sauce for some heat.
    • Add-ins: Try adding in finely chopped cucumber, capers, fresh garlic, or garlic powder for a Mediterranean spicy yogurt sauce. You can also add in a little lemon zest!

    Expert Tips For Success

What To Serve With Lemon Dill Yogurt Sauce

    • Seafood: Serve with grilled salmon, oven-baked lobster cakes, or Dungeness crab cakes for a refreshing, tangy contrast.
    • Roasted Vegetables: Drizzle over roasted Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, or sweet potato truffle fries for a burst of flavor.
    • Wraps and Sandwiches: Spread this sauce on wraps, sandwiches, or pita bread for extra creaminess.
    • Grilled Meats: Pair with BBQ chicken kebabs, smoked burgers, Greek turkey burgers, or lamb chops for a flavorful meal.
    • Dips: Serve as a dip with crispy pita chips, fresh veggies, or falafel.

    Storage And Reheating

    • Storage: Store any leftover sauce in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
    • Reheating: This sauce is best served cold. If it thickens in the fridge, simply stir in a little extra lemon juice or water to bring it back to the desired consistency.
