    Nadia

    Hello There!

    I’m Nadia, the recipe creator, photographer, and writer behind Simple And Fraiche. I’m here to help you discover that cooking wholesome, nourishing meals can be approachable, enjoyable, and packed with flavor. 

    As someone with a background in health and fitness and a certified nutrition coach, I’ve worked with hundreds of clients who all face the same challenge: How can you eat foods that fuel your body and help you achieve your health goals without sacrificing flavor? 

    My mission is to help you overcome that hurdle by sharing easy, nutrient-dense recipes that make you excited to get in the kitchen.

    A Taste Of My Journey

    I grew up in the Pacific Northwest (I’m now a Texan!) in a home where made-from-scratch longtime family recipes were a common theme. I’ve always loved food, and cooking, yet it took me a long time to reconcile that eating nutrient-dense, nourishing meals didn’t mean I had to compromise on flavor or give up the foods I love.

    This realization completely transformed the way I approach food, and it’s now the foundation of everything I share on Simple and Fraiche.

    Over the years, I have found ways to combine my passions for food and fitness.  I owned a gym for 10 years, and I am a Level 4 CrossFit Coach (less than 100 coaches globally have earned this certification) and a certified nutrition coach. I’ve also had the opportunity to teach over 400 CrossFit Seminars globally.

    Traveling around the world allowed me to experience food from many cultures, and also influenced my cooking. 

    I am currently an Operations Manager by day, and a food blogger by night!

    My Philosophy: Real Food, Real Ingredients

    Here at Simple and Fraiche, you’ll find recipes that focus on minimally processed, real food ingredients. I believe in eating food as close to its natural state as possible—ingredients you can pronounce and recognize.

    One of the biggest challenges when it comes to eating well is navigating the overwhelming sea of information about what’s “best.” The truth? There’s no one-size-fits-all approach to fueling your body. Every person is made up of unique DNA, which is why what works for one individual might not work for another.

    Here’s what I’ve learned from working with hundreds of clients: fueling your body requires flexibility and self-awareness. That’s why you’ll find a wide variety of recipes here at Simple and Fraiche.

    How Did You Choose The Blog Name “Simple And Fraiche?

    My husband and I were watching South Park one evening, the episode we were watching was titled "Crème Fraîche”. Randy, became obsessed with the Food Network and quit his job to pursue his passion for food. As my husband and I were laughing hysterically, he turned to me and said, you should name your blog Simple and Fraiche. I thought it was fun, and the rest is history.

    What Is Your Favorite Dish To Make?

    I love making a hearty Italian meat sauce—something like my Linguini Bolognese.

    What Do You Like To Do For Fun?

    When I’m not in the kitchen, I love spending time at home with my family. My favorite activities include working out, going for walks, gardening, listening to podcasts, doing a deep dive into some random topic, and binge-watching reality TV.
