This homemade hummus is creamy, tangy and so easy to make. Enjoy it with crackers, veggies and more!

Hummus is a Middle Eastern spread or dip made by blending chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice and garlic.

Hummus is traditionally served as a side dish or as an addition to a Mezze platter topped with olive oil and spices, and then scooped up with pita, or veggies.

Step 1: Drain garbanzo beans and add to a saucepan along with water and baking soda. Cook until the garbanzo beans are mushy.

Step 2: Add the garbanzo beans, lemon, ice water, tahini, garlic, cumin and sea salt to the food processor and blend until creamy.

Step 3: Plate the hummus and top with additional garbanzo beans, olive oil, spices and your favorite herbs.
