Chocolate Mint Bliss Balls
I’ve been making Bliss Balls for years, and I love coming up with new flavor combinations. These Chocolate Mint Bliss Balls are a nod to one of my favorite Christmas Candies from childhood. Every Christmas Season, we would have Frango Chocolates around the house, and my favorite was the Mint Chocolate flavor. I remember taking an entire box and hiding them in my room, so I could eat them whenever I wanted, ha!
A few years ago, I was telling my husband how much I loved Frango’s as a kid, so he surprised me with a box of Mint Chocolate Frango’s for Christmas. I was stoked, but quickly realized how much my palette had changed; the candies were far too sweet and they just didn’t taste as good as I remembered. Also, they contained ingredients that I try to avoid (soy lecithin and ‘artificial flavors’ to name a few), so I wanted to try recreating that childhood taste, but with better quality ingredients, and not soooooo much sweetness. And, voila! I think we did it.
Ingredients
Medjool Dates: Yes, you can use other types of dates, but Medjool is by far my favorite! They are larger, slightly darker, and have a powerfully rich caramel flavor.
Cashews: Raw and unsalted.
Cacao Powder: I love Navita
Coconut Oil: Dr. Bronners is fantastic.
Peppermint Extract
Collagen Peptides: I've been a fan of Vital Proteins for years!
